GREEDY GREGG!

Gregg Wallace co-presents MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef and MasterChef: The Professionals in the UK. He co-presents the first two shows with John Torode, the Australian celebrity chef, and co-presents the last show with Michel Roux Jr, a Michelin-star chef.

The MasterChef series are television cooking game shows created by Franc Roddam and first aired in the UK in 1990.

MasterChef has been franchised worldwide, including shows in Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, and the US.

MasterChef Australia
is the most watched television series in Australia, which is also shown in many other countries.

For some reason, there's no MasterChef show in Canada.

The rise of celebrity chefs and cooking shows on television is remarkable, especially given that people increasingly out at restaurants and ‘cook’ convenience meals. I love MasterChef!

Are you a fan of MasterChef?
What television cooking shows do you watch?
Are you inspired to cook by watching television cooking shows?

Born in Peckham, Gregg Wallace is not a professional chef. He started his career as a costermonger and now owns a restaurant in London; he also played rugby for London Welsh and suffers from narcolepsy. He described himself as "the fat, bald bloke on MasterChef who likes pudding”. Greedy Gregg loves his puddings.

My favourite puddings are sherry trifle, cherry pie with custard, and bread and butter pudding with custard. The only pudding I don’t like is cheesecake. At a restaurant, I often don’t have a starter so there’s enough room for a pudding.

What are your favourite puddings?

Yes, I love Masterchef, but only for the cooking. It takes itself far too seriously, and when I see the pomposity of the personalities I fast forward.
I pretty much watch any cooking programme.
The shows give me most inspiration, but I'd also thoroughly recommend a series of books which Carol Vorderman endorses on healthy eating. Some of the recipes and combos are deelish.
Not really a pudding person (though I am a big puddin!) Much prefer savouries.

I watch "Iron Chef America" and "The Food Network" channel.
I took cooking in school and these shows just add to my culinary techniques.
I love cooking and exoperimenting with food and flavors.
I make all sorts cheesecakes. I have diabetes (mild) but try to stay away from sugar. I use sugar substatute (sugartwin) in my baking. I have a chocolate cake that everyone wants. It is even published.

Quite often I go for all three - starter, main course and pudding. I like food!

I like any trifle but the more custard there is, the better the trifle!

I didn't know Carol Vorderman did cooking, I thought she just did maths!
