SEX AND ALL THAT JAZZ

Just who is having all the sex? Here’s some sex trivia to help answer this question:

1. Americans have more sex than British people, Chinese people have more sex than Japanese people, and Greek people have more sex than French people.
2. Agnostics and Jewish people have 20 per cent more sex than Catholics and Protestants.
3. Graduates have 32 per cent more sex than non-graduates.
4. Smokers are 10 per cent more sexually active than non-smokers.
5. People who rarely go to church have 31 per cent more sex than people who regularly go to church.
6. American people who like jazz music are 30 per cent more sexually active than people who don’t like jazz music.
7. Artists and poets have over twice the number of sexual partners than people who aren't artists or poets.
8. Men over 70 years old have 215 per cent more sex than women over 70 years old.
9. Miami residents are 59 per cent more sexually active than residents of Minneapolis-St Paul in America.
10. whose parents read to them less than once a week are 33 per cent more likely to be sexually active when they become teenagers than whose parents read to them more than once a week.

Often researchers find relationships of correlation rather than of causation. Correlation cannot be equated to causation.

Otherwise, if I took out American citizenship, lived in Miami, started to write poems and hung out at jazz clubs, I would have more sex. Perhaps I would, but it wouldn’t necessarily be caused by these factors.

There is a very strong correlation between those who drive a truck and those who drive a car in that all truck-drivers are also car-drivers. But it doesn’t mean that all car-drivers will become truck-drivers.

There is a strong correlation between countries’ chocolate consumption and the number of Nobel Prizes received by their citizens. But that doesn’t mean that if you eat more chocolate you will be awarded a Nobel Laureate.

Rather, chocolate consumption is a rough indicator of wealth, and rich countries are more likely to spend more on education, science, technology and research & development and are thus more likely to have more Nobel Prize recipients.

From my research, I have found that 100 per cent of all sexually active people have more sex than non-sexually-active people!

#8 doesn't surprise me at all - since women live longer than men. It's a perfect example of Supply and Demand.

#9 - this goes without saying as there are more people over the age of 70 in Miami.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I think you can get every sort of stupid answer in these sort of surveys.

I'm not really into much jazz but I did love Nina Simone's songs.

Say that they have sex more often... it doesn't mean that they do.

It's like the average number of partners heterosexual men and women have. As it is an average and as the number of men and women is roughly the same, then the figures must be the same (every time a man has a new partner then so does a woman). But the averages usually say men have more partners - maybe men are just boastful and women more demure.

I love jazz music.

Jazz pianist great Oscar Peterson, live down the street from my high school. Every year, he and other Jazz musician would do a performance for our school. It was very cool.
