I wasn't a fan of his but it is still a sad day!

My favorite album is Ziggy Stardust, but my all time best is David Live at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia

I first saw David Bowie in the 'Three Tuns' pub in Beckenham Kent , in the 60's just him and an acoustic guitar, sometimes he played with a few other folk musicians. He played as Davy Jones then.

Are you a fan of David Bowie’s music? I liked him all right, but I wouldn't exactly call myself a fan. He was an interesting enough guy but not captivating to me like Oscar Wilde. If so, what are you favourite David Bowie songs? I think "Space Oddity" was very cool. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

Very saddened by his death. I'm a big fan. I was thinking of posting a Bowie music quiz this Sunday as a tribute. I have 35 albums and 75 singles in total but, as you say, he's been making music for 50 years, so that's just scratching the surface. My favourite albums re Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust (of course) and Santa Monica Live. Favourite tracks are 'Width of a circle', 'Wild is the Wind', 'Moonage Daydream', 'Rebel Rebel'.

Mixed thoughts... I grew up in the 70s, so obviously he was a presence in my formative years. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who would list anything he's done in the last 30 years as a favourite - just look at the songs people have mentioned here. His early output was extraordinary, and permeated the lives of my generation. But I don't think he's been relevant since the 70s. A bit like the Stones really.

yes, I was and still am a fan... I still like the Beatles... Joni Mitchell, Iron Butterfly... my fav song is 'This is not America'... The reason being, that it was used in two interesting movies... 'The falcon & the snowman' & 'Training Day'. Also, this song was done with/without Pat Metheny & Anna Maria Jopek... I also enjoyed his role in 'the labyrinth'... Interesting person... thanks for the post!!! To leave private messages, please use my confidential mailbox at my blog: Good luck!!!
