Like a rubber band that had been stretched too far. As I was kneeling down to clean off some paint drips from off the tile floors in the kitchen I was working in is when it happened. ( it seems like I'm forever cleaning up paint drips ) Any who the pain was intense, and didn't fade away as most pain does when you've bumped or injured yourself. Well, the muscle that ends just above my knee felt like it had been pulled off it's mooring. What fresh new Hell was this? I couldn't stand back up and needed to brace myself on the door jamb of the pantry door just to get back on my feet. Once up I found that I could walk..with some ouchy-ness, but the real pain came when I tried to walk down the steps of the apartment building to go tell the boss that I hurt myself. With each step down the stairs a sharp pain radiated through my upper thigh. Fu*k, Fu*k, Fu*k...was what I waned to say as I was going down those steps, but couldn't as a Tenant was following right behind. She had come out of her apartment at the exact same time as I came out of the one I'd been cleaning. Once outside I went to find the boss, yeah no. He was off someplace doing work orders. With a half hour to go till lunch started I stood by the entrance to the shop, no frigging way was I going to walk down those steps to go into the shop, not the way my leg felt. So I lit a smoke and waited shifting my weight to the other leg and leaning on the safety rail surrounding the entrance to the shop. About fifteen minutes later he showed up...asked me if I was done with the unit? Or, if I needed more work to do? Yeah...no. Told him what happened. He asked if I needed to fill out a report? I told him that at this time I felt I was okay, sore as hell, but okay and wanted to inform him of what happened. ( which is the standard procedure when you get a boo-boo while working ) That if push came to shove we could fill out a report if the pain got any worse and I needed medical attention. He said if it got worse to let him know, told me to take a break and I went to lunch.

At home I took off my pants and applied some of that over the counter stuff to the thigh ( the kind that goes on cold and then gets hot ) Yeah, didn't think...but that stuff as you apply it gets on your hands as well. Duh me! Tried washing my hands, but it was too late.. I re applied some more when I got home last nigh as well, that time using a rubber glove on my hand to apply it.

The leg is still a bit sore, and I haven't tried walking up or down any stairs as of yet, but I think I'll live. So, How was your day? I'm off to shower now....

My grand - daughter periodically gets that sort of thing playing Soccer Coach, of course , takes her out remainder of game Team Trainer has an Icy / Hot spray that she applies and grand puts Aspercream on the area when she gets home , if Not better the next day, daughter would take her to area schools sports doctor Usually that hasn't happened & she is back playing the next game

You need to get that checked out. I did the same thing coming down some stairs from the attic when something gave way in my knee. I went to the doctor and found out that my quad tendon had torn.

Go get an MRI. If it felt like it snapped and came undone ... It probably tore.
I am so sorry hon. Hugs!!
